ALCEDO is a recently formed group which
aims to promote Lithuania’s rich bird life and the country’s natural
beauty. Tours are designed to give visitors the opportunity to see some
of the most rare and exciting species that Europe has to offer.
The group ALCEDO was
created by
Žydrūnas
Preikša and Juozas Miškinis.
Žydrūnas
has
worked on various ornithological projects and has a brilliant knowledge
of the country’s birds and where to find them. He has worked with Youth
Members of the Lithuanian Ornithological Society, and is currently
employed as the Chief Ecologist for the Nemunas Regional Park.
Juozas
Miškinis was one of the founders of the Lithuanian Ornithological
Society, and has subsequently participated in numerous ornithological
projects.
Projects
are lead by a network of local guides, including Žydrūnas and Juozas,
each with an invaluable knowledge of birds in their local area. |
