Lithuanian bird fauna consists of 345 species about 220 species of them breeding. In Lithuania there are 7 globally threatened species: Lesser White-fronted Goose, Ferruginous Duck, Stellr's Eider, White-tailed Eagle, Corncrake, and Aquatic Warbler. In Western Europe nearly extinct Corncrake here is common field's birds. We can count up to 30,000 calling males of them. White-tailed Eagle probably occupied all the suitable breeding areas where food is abundant. On the Curonian Lagoon coast, in Nemunas Delta and Zuvintas Lake environs still the rarest passerine species of continental Europe - Aquatic Warbler. Baltic Sea littoral is international importance wintering site of Steller's Eider. Lithuania has big populations of rare in Western Europe species, such as White and Black Storks, Cranes, Lesser Spotted Eagle, Hazel Grouse, Grey-headed, Middle Spotted, White-backed and Three-toed Woodpeckers. According to international criteria in Lithuania there are identified 57 important birds areas, scattered all over the country.

Besides that you will find Icterine Warbler, Thrush nightingale, Marsh Warbler, River Warbler, European Serin, Wood Lark, Penduline Tit which is common birds in country. Also like Common Rosefinch, Gold Oriole, Fildfare, Nutcraker are frequent in their habitats.
